Bibhu Mohapatra partners with De Beers Forevermark for his Fall Winter 2016 Collection.
De Beers Forevermark has proudly partnered with Bibhu Mohapatra to accessorize his Fall Winter 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week. Dazzling De Beers Forevermark diamonds perfectly accent the vibrant colors and sweeping fabrics, bringing a sense of serenity in the bustling dressing rooms and then lighting up the catwalk during Bibhu Mohapatra’s Fall Winter show. Inspired by the last Chinese empress, Cixi, we see subtle homages to her in his work - dragonfly embroideries neighbored with refined floral print on a deep red evening gown.
Growing up with his family in Orissa, on the East Coast of India, Bibhu Mohapatra’s appreciation for sumptuous Indian fabrics and vibrant colors began at an early age. This initial exposure to textiles and garment construction still inspires Bibhu’s designs and permeates throughout the collections of his namesake label.

De Beers Forevermark started a partnership with Bibhu Mohapatra for his previous collection and is pleased to return to New York Fashion Week with such a talented designer.

The ornate style of the jewelry fits perfectly with the theme of my collection, which is inspired by the legendary Chinese ‘Dragon Lady’ Empress Cixi.
