Once a diamond’s provenance and quality have been confirmed, it is inscribed with a unique number that represents our promise: that the diamond is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. Only then does it become a Forevermark diamond.
Diamonds that are eligible to become Forevermark are sent to the Forevermark Diamond Institute, the internationally renowned center of diamond excellence, with locations in Antwerp, Belgium; Surat, India; and Maidenhead, United Kingdom. As part of the De Beers group of companies, our experts draw on cutting-edge bespoke technology and 125 years of diamond expertise to carefully inspect every diamond, going beyond the technical qualities of the 4Cs to hand-pick only those diamonds that are truly beautiful. Only once a diamond’s provenance and quality are confirmed can it receive the Forevermark inscription – a symbol of our promise.
Invisible to the naked eye, the Forevermark inscription includes the Forevermark icon and a unique number. The inscription is 1/20th of a micron deep – 1/5,000th the depth of a human hair – and is placed on the table facet of the diamond, using confidential, proprietary technology. It does not affect the internal quality of the diamond. Smaller diamonds, those of less than 14 points, cannot accommodate the inscription, and therefore are not inscribed by Forevermark. The inscription can only be seen with a Forevermark Viewer, which offers superb magnification and clarity.
With its unique inscription, each Forevermark diamond is as special as the promise made when it is given or received. The inscription also allows each Forevermark diamond to be registered in your name, confirming it as uniquely yours.
6/ Jewelry & Design
Once a Forevermark diamond is inscribed, it is set in a piece of jewelry designed and manufactured by a select Forevermark Diamantaire, Manufacturer, or Jeweler, or it is sold as a loose diamond to be set in the design of your choice.
