At the heart of the US awards season are the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars. The 88th Annual Academy Awards took place in February earlier this year, with celebrities taking to the Red Carpet looking as glamorous as ever. Once awards season comes to an end, all eyes turn to the most highly anticipated event in the fashion calendar, the Met Gala. Celebrating the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute exhibition, the dress code of the ball is determined by the theme of the event, which this year was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”.
