Diamond Certification
When buying a diamond engagement ring, make sure it comes with a recognised international certificate. Diamond certification or a grading report is a document provided by expert gemologists who assess the quality of a diamond, including its cut, clarity, polish and dimensions. The De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds, the De Beers Group Industry Services and the GIA are among the world’s leading diamond grading bodies.
De Beers Forevermark grading certificates from De Beers Group Industry Services provide more in-depth information on the cut, clarity, colour and caratage of the diamond. The information contained on a De Beers Forevermark grading certificate will have been evaluated using world-class proprietary diamond processes and technology in the De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds in Belgium, UK or India.
Some diamonds also have a laser inscribed unique identification number which denotes that the diamond you buy adheres to strict industry guidelines and represents a commitment to integrity.
Diamond engagement ring insurance
Aside from paying for your wedding, investing in a car or purchasing a house, buying a diamond engagement ring can be one of the most significant purchases you make in a lifetime. Engagement rings may be removed for sporting activities, for cleaning or to protect them, which means they are susceptible to being misplaced or stolen.

The De Beers Forevermark inscription that lies at the heart of all our diamonds is a unique symbol of our promise that each diamond is beautiful, rare and responsibly sourced. As De Beers Forevermark diamonds pass along the pipeline we keep careful track of them to ensure that each and every one is natural, untreated and conflict free. These strict controls are independently verified by an organisation called Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) – the largest independent third party auditor in the world and a specialist in ethical supply chains.
