De Beers Forevermark Celebrates International Women's Day
Sophia and Alice are two inspirational women who have driven their careers forward with support from De Beers Forevermark and the De Beers Group of Companies.
Sophia Mphuthi started her own business as a driving instructor. Thanks to the De Beers Group of Companies' Zimele programme, she was able to develop her business, extending her driving school from car to truck driving. She offers free training to women, opening for them a new world of opportunities.
Alice Mandiwana’s story echoes Sophia’s. A trained firefighter, Alice couldn’t find employment – until she found work at the De Beers Group of Companies' Venetia Mine and received training as a truck driver. She is now one of the mine’s top performing drivers.
